Most space games shrink the universe. Rocket Foundry doesn't. Every radius, every orbit, every gravity well uses real astronomical data, and the physics engine is built on double-precision math so it stays exact from launch pad to the Kuiper Belt.

A grid editor that respects physics
Every tank, engine, decoupler and fin is a real part with real mass, thrust and drag. The builder computes your centre of mass, fuel flow and stage delta-v as you place parts.
- Authored staging: arrange your launch sequence, then fire it in flight.
- Fairings, docking ports, hinges, wheels: build stations, rovers and cranes, not just rockets.
- Texture skins and paint to make each vessel yours.
- Bad designs fail honestly: not enough thrust, no fuel path, unstable aero. You'll know.

From ignition to orbit, nothing is faked
Thrust, gimbal, aerodynamic drag, fuel flow, reaction wheels, RCS: every force is integrated in double precision. Coasting craft ride exact Keplerian rails, so your orbit after a month of time warp is the same orbit you parked.
- Patched-conic navigation with live encounter prediction and transfer planning.
- Reentry heating with real plasma. Shed speed or shed parts.
- Two-stage parachutes, landing legs, buoyancy and splashdowns.
- Dock, undock, transfer fuel, and assemble stations in orbit.
Coming home is the hard part
Hit the atmosphere too steep and you burn; too shallow and you skip off into space. Manage your heat shield, pop the chutes in the right speed window, and stick the landing, anywhere with an atmosphere or without one.

Plan it on the map, then go
The map view is your mission control: live orbits, sphere-of-influence boundaries, apoapsis and periapsis markers, transfer windows and rendezvous passes, across the whole system, from Mercury's scorched orbit to the Kuiper Belt.
- Career mode: research, a tech tree, and program arcs from first launch to grand tours.
- World firsts tracked per body: first flyby, first orbit, first landing, first return.
- Plant a flag on the Moon. Grab an asteroid. Drive a rover on Titan.
Small bodies, big missions
Real asteroids like Bennu, Eros, Vesta and Ceres, with terrain baked from NASA shape models. Rendezvous with them, grapple them with a robotic claw, and push them onto new orbits.
Mod
The whole game is data. Change it.
Parts, planets and launch sites are plain JSON, and the editors are built into the game: draw colliders visually, keyframe deployable animations on a timeline, upload your own art, then pack it all into a single mod file anyone can install.
- Part editor with live preview: engines, tanks, wheels, solar panels, robotic arms.
- Planet editor: add your own worlds, or replace the whole catalog.
- One-file sharing: mods pack and unpack like save files.

What is Rocket Foundry?
A 2D space-flight sandbox. You design rockets from modular parts on a grid, launch them with realistic physics, and fly anywhere in a full-scale model of the real solar system: 76 bodies, real sizes, real orbits.
Is the solar system really 1:1 scale?
Yes. Earth is 6,371 km in radius, the Moon is 384,400 km away, and every planet, moon and asteroid uses real astronomical data. The simulation runs on double-precision analytic Keplerian mechanics, so orbits stay exact at any time-warp speed. There is no drift, ever.
Which platforms is it available on?
Windows and Android beta builds are available right now in the official Discord server. macOS and iOS are in development from the same codebase: the same rockets, the same physics, the same solar system everywhere.
Does it support mods?
Yes. Modding is a core feature, not an afterthought. Parts, planets and launch-site structures are all data-driven JSON, the editors are built into the game, and mods pack into a single shareable file.
